Tarakor was a member of the Grimtotem Clan and was the second in command of the Grimtotem squadron who were ordered to assassinate Baine Bloodhoof while he resided in Bloodhoof Village. When the commander of the squadron Jevan Grimtotem, known as Stormsong, told him to wait while he investigated to make sure that Baine was unaware of his father's. death Tarakor did so.[1] However when the wait proved to last too long he ordered his warriors to start attacking Bloodhoof Village. He was not surprised to discover that the citizens of the village were prepared, having assumed that Stormsong had been captured. [2]
After killing many of the village defenders and noticing that Baine was no where to be seen, he realized that Stormsong had betrayed the Grimtotem Clan. When Baine and Stormsong arranged for a herd of kodo to drive them off Tarakor ordered the retreat and plunged into Stonebull Lake for cover. After escaping the lake, he and his surviving warriors headed off to Thunder Bluff, where he was not looking forward to informing Magatha that they failed to kill Baine and that Stormsong had betrayed them.[3]
He remained in Thunder Bluff and fought against Baine's forces when they arrived to reclaim the Tauren capital. After the battle was over, he and his mate swore allegiance to Baine Bloodhoof, in order to secure a better future for their children. [4]
