Notes

The daze effect is essentially a snare, reducing movement speed by 50%.

In terms of mathematical probability, this talent when maxed out will make it so that one in ten of your successful Destruction spell hits will daze the target.

Tips

  • This talent has potential use in PvE when using Rain of Fire or Hellfire to help keep mobs from moving too much while channeling the AOEs. It also has potential for use in PvP, but it does not proc often enough to be reliable. Most popular builds skip this talent in favor of Bane.
  • This talent might have a new meaning with a new spell Shadowflame.

Patch changes

  • Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Re-designed: Increases the periodic damage done by your Immolate by 3/6%, and your Conflagrate has a 50/100% chance to daze the target for 5 sec.
  • Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Now a 2-point talent, down from 5.
  • Patch 2.1 (2007-05-22): The delay on the daze effect has been reduced.
