Alchemy proficiency refers to a character’s training in Alchemy. The table below summarizes what level and skill required to advance to each proficiency.

Apprentice Alchemy

Apprentice Alchemy proficiency can be trained as early as level 5, permits progression up to 75 skill and access to the following Recipes:

Journeyman Alchemy

Journeyman proficiency can be trained as early as level 10 and 50 skill which permits progression up to 150 skill and access to the following Recipes:

Expert Alchemy

Expert Alchemy proficiency can be trained as early as level 20 and 125 skill which permits progression up to 225 skill and access to the following Recipes:

Artisan Alchemy

Artisan Alchemy proficiency can be trained as early as level 35 and 200 skill which permits progression up to 300 skill and access to the following Recipes:

Master Alchemy

TBC This section concerns content exclusive to The Burning Crusade.

Master Alchemy was made available in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. It requires at least level 50 and 275 skill to train, permits progression up to a skill level of 375 and allows players to complete quests in order to become specialized in either Elixirs, Potions, or Transmutations.

Grand Master Alchemy

WotLK This section concerns content exclusive to Wrath of the Lich King.

Grand Master Alchemy was made available in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. It requires at least level 70 and 350 skill to train and permits progression up to a skill level of 450.
