Angrathar the Wrath Gate

Angrathar the Wrath Gate is a barred gate located in the Northwest of the Dragonblight. It is the entrance to the Icecrown Citadel, and the Horde and the Alliance are gearing up to lay siege to it. It is here where players will have their first direct encounter with the Lich King and the "first act" of the expansion will culminate.[1]

Background
It is made of Saronite, a black metal created by Yogg-Saron's blood.
Bases
The Wrath Gate is under siege by both the Horde, as well as the Alliance. They've both set up their bases and intend to storm into the Citadel.

Major quest chain
There is a major quest chain involving the Alliance and Horde forces garrisoned outside the Wrath Gate. To activate this chain, several other chains in the Dragonblight must be completed.

- Westwind Refugee Camp
- Into the Fold and subsequent quests.
- Agmar's Hammer
- Victory Nears... and subsequent quests.
- Strength of Icemist and subsequent quests.
- Venomspite
- The Forsaken Blight and You: How Not to Die and subsequent quests.
- Once the above are completed, Overlord Agmar will offer the quest The Kor'kron Vanguard! which is the starting point of the major event surrounding the Wrath Gate for Horde players.

- Naxxramas and the Fall of Wintergarde and subsequent quests
- Wintergarde Mine
- The Demo-gnome and subsequent quests
- After completing the above, High Commander Halford Wyrmbane sends players into the Wintergarde Mausoleum on Into Hostile Territory
- Wintergarde Keep
Upon the completion of these quest chains, players can watch a cutscene depicting a great battle at the Wrath Gate. This cutscene can be repeated by speaking to Alexstrasza, who (along with Korialstrasz) stands on the fiery battlefield.
