Love is in the Air
The subject of this article or section is part of Love is in the Air, a seasonal event that lasts two weeks. Once the event has run its course, this will no longer be available until next year, but there are no guarantees.

Title <Crown Chemical Co.>
Race Forsaken (Undead)
Level 82 Elite
Location Shadowfang Keep, Silverpine Forest

Apothecary Hummel is a boss found in Shadowfang Keep during the Love is in the Air event.

Strategy

Apothecary Hummel does "perfume damage" so to speak, while Apothecary Baxter does "cologne damage". In both cases the damage consists of a short-range aura dealing around 2k dps, and a channeled frontal cone attack. Apothecary Frye tosses vials of both perfume and cologne which create patches on the ground dealing damage to those who stand in them (about 2k per second).

All three bosses do minimal melee damage (less than 1k on cloth), so all that's required to tank them is the appropriate immunity-granting buff from the items acquired with the daily quest. Someone should drink the perfume neutralizer and tank Hummel. Another person should drink the cologne neutralizer and tank Baxter. They should be separated and faced away from each other, so that the others in the group are only hit by one or the other at a time. Frye is untankable (and annoying to chase down after the other two are dead).

Adds spawn throughout the fight and should be killed as they come. They have very little health, but will cause trouble for the healer if left to run free.

Alternate Strategy

One tank

Fight begins with Hummel being pulled alone, burn all CD's to finish him as swiftly as possible.

If possible, CC Baxter (he is trappable, etc.).

All party members begin with Purple Buff on, once Hummel is downed switch to Green. Frye will throw both colors so all members avoid poison, poison is what will wipe groups. Once Hummel is down, go for Baxter. Once these two are down, Frye is more or less soloable if one stays out of poison.

The random mobs mentioned earlier self-destruct for fairly decent AoE damage, if your healer is having trouble, pick a ranged dps to focus on these.

And remember, POISON WIPES GROUPS. other than that, easy peasy

...or are they just using you like they do everybody else?
But what does it matter. It is time for this to end.

Trivia

Apothocaries Hummel, Frye and Baxtor are all references from the movie The Rock, I.E. Brig. General Francis Hummel, Captain Frye, and Major Baxtor. All the quotes as well are straight from the movie.

While rockets loaded with chemical agents played a part in the movie, there are more obvious innuendos applicable to the Big Love Rocket.
