An Archaeology Fragment is a type of currency players can gather by using the Archaeology profession, introduced in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. Common artifacts can be acquired by turning in a few dozen fragments, but better or rare artifacts will need over a hundred fragments plus one or more keystones.
