This article was originally 'School of Fish', meant as a synonym for Fishing Pool; the descriptive text related only to Fishing Pools. There are Fishing Pools that are not schools of fish at all, and there are schools of fish that are critters, not fishable objects. The original page did not address the first case very well, and the second case not at all. I added text about the ambience schools to the original article, and it sort of worked, but it seemed best to separate out the fishing pool content.

The following items have appears on the original page but have since been depreciated due to content changes. Revision as of 21:49, 1 January 2011

Consider:

  • 'Fishing Pool' is a functional term. It says what the object is about, how it is used.
  • 'School of Fish' is a graphical term. It says what the object looks like.

Since some objects fit both categories, they are mentioned on both pages. Madkaugh (talk) 22:21, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Well I tried to put this together to include Northrend pools and hopefully clean it up a little bit. I can not figure out why "Watertight Trunk" is not quite working right in the one table. *ugh* Trilless (talk) 08:02, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Depreciated Content (Historical purposes)

The following items have appears on the original page but have since been depreciated due to content changes. Because of Achievements becoming Feats of Strength (But not all Feats being impossible to do), I thought that this section will help those looking for historical purposes to learn how those were obtained and various other historical context. Trilless (talk) 21:45, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

  • 'School of Fish' which is a pool of Inv misc flower 02 [Peacebloom] exists in the game in a lake in the mountains north of the Human starting area Northshire Valley. You can see it as you fly over it on the flight between Stormwind and Ironforge. You cannot reach it by normal means, but it has been fished. It is probably a code test area or a bug, and fishing it might be considered to be an exploit, although the peacebloom is not of noteworthy value.
Appears to be removed with Cataclysm
Moved to a Feat of Strength with Cataclysm due to the removal of the Zul'Gurub raid zone.
