- Vipers may appear sluggish, but they can lash out with deadly speed and precision.[1]
The hunter takes on the aspects of a viper, regenerating mana equal to up to 55% of <his/her> Intellect every 5 sec (plus 5% bonus with at least two pieces of Gronnstalker's Armor). The lower the hunter's current mana, the more mana will be regenerated. Only one Aspect can be active at a time.
Uses
- Enables the Hunter to regenerate mana faster. Therefore, it reduces their overall downtime and helps restore mana in long fights.
- Stacks with equipment and items consisting of +mana every 5 seconds bonuses.
- When combined with Efficiency (Tier 2 Marksman Talent) Aspect of the Viper is an even more effective tool for long grinding sessions, raid bosses and chaotic multiple pulls.
- Getting your mana to around half way and using Aspect of the Viper regenerates a majority of what is used by Steady Shot, Serpent Sting and Arcane Shot in a battle against a NPC.
- This spell is also extremely usefull for long grinding sessions where one is looking for little to no down time at all between pulls. That said, it increases a Hunter's farming ability even further.
Limitations
- A hunter can only have one Aspect on at a time.
Rank Table
Level | Mana Cost | Mana Regen Bonus | Training Cost | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rank 1 | 64 | 40 | 11-55% of Intellect in mana/5 sec (depending on available mana) | 9 |
Scaling of the Spell Effect with Current Mana
The effectiveness of the spell changes with the hunter's current mana. With at least 90% mana, the effect is 11% of total Intellect. This is followed by a linear increase up to 55% of total Intellect until the mana bar is down to 20%. The base effect can never be higher than 55% or lower than 11% of total Intellect unless the Gronnstalker set bonus is applied.
The exact formula for the scaling appears to be:
MP5Viper = Intellect × 22/35 × ( 0.9 - Manacurrent / Manamax ) + Intellect × 0.11
with a lower cap of Intellect × 0.11 and an upper cap of Intellect × 0.55
