Avoidance is a passive summoned pet ability that decreases damage taken by AoE Spells and effects by 90%. This passive ability is innate for all classes' pets, excluding death knights, who are required to spec in to Spell deathknight armyofthedead [Night of the Dead].

Notes

There is only one rank of this ability, which is innately known by every non-death knight pet.

Patches and hotfixes

  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): Now reduces the damage your pets take from area-of-effect damage by 90%, but no longer applies to area-of-effect damage caused by other players. Doomguards and infernals now innately have Avoidance like all other warlock minions.
    AoE damage reduction increased from 80%. Previously, hunters had to spend pet talents to get this ability for their pets. It is now innately passive for almost all classes with pets. The hunter pet talent has been replaced by Inv misc monsterhorn 06 [Culling the Herd].
