There has been a great deal of confusion about where exactly the isles will lie once added to the game. Little is known about this grouping of islands, and it is safe to assume they have not been recently explored so nobody noticed the Draenei settlements cropping up after the crash. It is not known how many starting zones the Draenei will have on the islands, or the size of those islands. It is also unknown if the main island (shown in the map) will be the only playable part of the Azuremyst Isles, sort of the "main island" in the chain. Some speculate that the main island might be the level 1-10 zone, while the rest may have 10-20 content. Another possibility is that the main island contains 1-10 content, then the Draenei share their secondary zone with the Night Elves, Darkshore. A third possibility debated is that the Draenei may have a new secondary zone near the Stonetalon Mountains. There is a lot of "gray" land on the current world map where many speculate a new zone may be placed.

Azuremyst Isle Map

This is the starting zone for the Draenei.

A grouping of islands off the coast of Kalimdor, where the remaining Draenei crash landed after fleeing Draenor. Draenei start in Ammen Vale, a subzone located on one of the islands in particular, "Azuremyst Isle". The land has changed a great deal due to the crash by a Draenei interdimensional generation ship. They have only crashed recently and the ship is still smoking. Powerful and omnious crystals dot the lands, and energy storms ripple throught the sky.

There has been a great deal of confusion about where exactly the isles will lie once added to the game. Scott Mercer in an interview places the Azuremyst Isles northwest of Kalimdor and south of Teldrassil, but the Official FAQ says it's in the northeast. Reports by gaming news sources from the Draenei launch at E3 have varied between these two stories. Drysc spoke up to clear the air over this issue. "It is south of Teldrassil, west of Darkshore. If you look at the current in-game map it is planned to be right around where the sea-dragon... thing's head is." [1]

The Draenei Capital City, Exodar is built around their crashed ship.

When you start as a new Draenei, you awake in an escape pod in Ammen Vale. (WorldOfWar.net E3 video, part 2)
