The Barracks is a large garrison building that unlocks patrol missions, gives the player the ability to hire followers with the bodyguard trait to follow them around Draenor, and grants access to racial guards and banners.

Description[]

The Barracks houses your garrison's military forces and followers.

Tiers[]

Level 1: Unlocks patrol missions. Patrol missions have higher than normal follower experience rewards.
Level 2: Allows a follower with the bodyguard trait to accompany you as a guardian in Draenor zones.
Level 3: Increases your follower limit by 5 and grants access to racial guards and banners.

Unlocking[]

Level 1: You are required to build this in your first large building slot as part of the early garrison quest chain.
Level 2: Purchased with a [Comprehensive Outpost Construction Guide]. Also purchasable using gold from your garrison blueprints vendor after you have reached level 100 or completed the construction of your Nagrand outpost.
Level 3: Unlocked by completing the [Patrolling Draenor] achievement (train 20 followers to level 100).

To unlock racial guards and banners, you need to be exalted with the race's corresponding faction in addition to building level 3 Barracks. After that, an NPC of the appropriate race will appear inside your Town Hall, offering the option to replace your guards and banners with those of that race.
