The previous formulas for health/mana regeneration of warlocks didn't seem to fit my experience at all, so I've decided to measure them using a good old stopwatch, wearing different equipment to get varying attributes. The [http://aedion.de/wow/health_warlock.dat raw data] was analyzed by a [http://www.gnuplot.info/ gnuplot] [http://aedion.de/wow/health_warlock.gnuplot script], resulting in a [http://aedion.de/wow/health_warlock.pdf good fit] for the formula [[Spirit|Spirit]] * 0.07 + 6. :Alright just gave this a quick test on my 48 warlock. With 173 spirit I gained 17 health a tick and with 101 spirit I gained 13 health a tick. Your equation says with 173 spirit I should gain a little over 18 health a tick and with 101 spirit I should gain at little over 13 health a tick. Looks damn close I am curious to see if it gets worse as the spirit gets higher, this would imply that the constant should be increased a bit and the multiplicitive modifier decreased a bit. For Warriors: I tried it on my 60 warrior with 58 spirit gained 53 health a tick, the equation says it should be at 46. With 44 spirit he gained 41/42 a tick and equation says it should be a little over 35. Quick math between the two suggests spirit is counted about .9. So for me is looks like it should be something like spirit*A + B. Where A is somewhere between .8 and .9 and B is something between 1 and 3. Basically I life tapped a couple times, let it tick a couple of times, then wrote down my life every tick for 4 or 5 ticks and figured out what I was gaining every tick. My warrior doesn't have much spirit gear, but with his tanking gear on he has 65 spirit which resulted in 58 health a tick. I've been doing some heavy testing of spirit regen values for health and mana. For my warrior, testing at level 37, I'm actually getting more like 0.83 health per point of spirit. Making it exactly 5/6* spirit + gives me a constant of about +0.1. My data points are (33, 27.6), (36, 30.1), (41, 34.3), (44, 36.8). Yes, fractional values for ticks - I've been watching this stuff carefully, and I'm actually getting, say, for 33 spirit, around 60% of the ticks for 28 and 40% for 27, hence, 27.6-ish is the result.

Yes, it does. How much extra you get from it is dependant on something or other; I've only got two data points, but a level 60 rogue gets a bigger sitting bonus than a level 30-something warrior. Maybe it's a percentage bonus? Need more data.

Stopwatch-based info

The previous formulas for health/mana regeneration of warlocks didn't seem to fit my experience at all, so I've decided to measure them using a good old stopwatch, wearing different equipment to get varying attributes. The raw data was analyzed by a gnuplot script, resulting in a good fit for the formula Spirit * 0.07 + 6. Can other warlocks verify this? --Archibalgul 12:20, 4 Mar 2006 (EST)
