Bittertide Lake

Bittertide Lake is located in northwest Sholazar Basin, bordered by the Mistwhisper Refuge to the north, the Wildgrowth Mangal to the east, Swindlegrin's Dig to the south, the Makers' Perch to the southwest, and Sholazar's border with the sea to the west. Fed by an unnamed stream coming from the sea, Bittertide is inhabited by hydra.
Strong currents will pull a swimmer under, but they can be overcome with some effort. Underwater Saronite Deposits are a challenge. How can you mine a deposit when you are constantly moving?
On the small island in the northern part of Bittertide Lake, a hatch with a glowing window can be found in the ground. Upon mouseover, the numbers "5 9 16 17 24 43" appear. The whole island itself is a reference to Lost, an American serial drama television series in which the survivors of a plane crash are stranded on an island. The numbers "4 8 15 16 23 42" are seen in Lost, which are only 1 digit smaller than those seen in-game.
