The Black Knight's Gryphon can be found near the eastern end of the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown along with its owner, The Black Knight. It is also sometimes referred to as the Black War Gryphon when The Black Knight is riding it.

Players are tasked with capturing and riding the gryphon during the quest The Black Knight's Orders in order to retrieve the Stolen Tournament Invitation and Black Knight's Orders and bring them to Crusader Rhydalla.

Trial of the Champion Edit

The gryphon is used by The Black Knight in the Trial of the Champion when he first flies into the ring to kill Jaeren Sunsworn.
