Boar
Boars were critters in Warcraft II.

Boars are a common, usually furry, cloven-hoofed, four-legged beast that is the uncastrated male form of the pig family.

Though not carnivores, these wild swine are bad tempered; they usually charge anyone who disturbs them. A boar is covered in coarse, grayish-black fur. Adult males are about 4 feet long and 3 feet high at the shoulder. A boar is such a tenacious combatant that it continues to fight without penalty even while disabled or dying.Template:Cite

Most boars are neutral when approached and are generally omnivorous. They start at around large dog sized and get larger from there. Some boars are minions of the Quilboars. Boars are found in Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, Elwynn Forest, the Redridge Mountains, Durotar, Mulgore, the Blasted Lands, Razorfen Kraul, Razorfen Downs, Westfall, the Eastern Plaguelands, and Teldrassil.

Additional notes:

  • Often killed early on for their food ingredient drops.
  • There are three types of armored boar (the Agam'ars) that dwell in Razorfen Kraul; despite appearances, they are tamable by hunters.
  • There are also undead and demon variety of boars, but these are not tamable. However, the Plagued Swine of the Eastern Plaguelands looks undead but is a beast.

As a Hunter Pet

  • Occasionally used by hunters due to their incredible defensive stats, Charge and Gore, and their easy diet. As of 1.9 they have become a great deal more popular due to Charge. In 1.10 they gained a level 60 member of their family, the Plagued Swine, which not only has an undead looking skin, but features the last rank of Charge.
