Bonescale Snapper is a common fish from Northrend waters. This is not a schooling fish, so you can only fish it from open water, lakes, and pools. A minimum of 380 fishing is needed to cast in the open waters of most of Northrend, 475 to stop fish from getting away. The exception is Crystalsong Forest which requires 405 fishing to cast, 500 to stop losing fish.

Strategy

Good fishing spots with few mobs and high catch rate (over 50%) include Death's Stand, Winter's Breath Lake, Echo Cove, and a viking cave^{[78, 17]}.

Reagent

A single catch can easily be cooked into a [Conjured Mana Biscuit]-like food [Grilled Bonescale], or three can be cooked into hit rating food, [Snapper Extreme]. [Recipe: Snapper Extreme] is a daily cooking quest recipe, purchased for three [Dalaran Cooking Awards].
