Book of the Dead is an epic off-hand from Stratholme.

This ancient, musty tome is decorated with inlaid bones from various creatures. The cover and spine are made from dried skin stretched and treated to remain flexible. The ink used to write the magical words and runes inside is blood drawn from the veins of living creatures killed as sacrifices when the book was completed.^[1]

Book of the Dead drops from Balnazzar in Stratholme, and should not be confused with the Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire which drops from Onyxia.

Trivia

Likely a reference to the "Necronomicon Ex Mortis" from the Evil Dead series, a book of the dead also bound in human flesh and inked in blood.
