In World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Budd and his band of treasure seekers and troll slayers have moved camp to Grizzly Hills in search of new profits, but ever since his encounter with Zul'jin, Budd he seems to have lost his sanity and now believes he is a troll complete with a troll mask.
He is now used as troll bait and an aid in capturing live ice trolls in the quest Filling the Cages. He is actually thinking he is playing "Troll Tag" which basically means knocking someone out by hitting their head with a frying pan.

Once he is cured he waves goodbye and apparently escapes Vashj'ir.

Budd offers a crazy plan to get the team and a Ramkahen prince out of the Tol´vir city which, despite Budd's somewhat questionable intellect, works quite well. Since Patch 4.2.0, there is a chance for Budd to make an appearance during the Firelands Invasion quest The Protectors of Hyjal as "one of Azeroth's greatest heroes", one of many heroes that have a chance to spawn and assist players while on the quest.
