Vulture

A large, carnivorous, scavenger bird that also goes by the names "Buzzard", "Roc", "Condor", or "Vulture". They usually have featherless heads and broad, slow-flapping wingspans. Vultures are sometimes found lurking about the bones of dead beasts and ill-managed graveyards. They can be found in Mulgore, Westfall, Tanaris, the Arathi Highlands, the Badlands, the Blasted Lands, Thousand Needles, Desolace, Deadwind Pass and the Redridge Mountains.

Additional notes:

  • Vultures are hostile beasts that will attack players that venture too close.
  • Most vultures have a knock-down ability called Swoop that interrupts attacks by characters and requires time for them to get up after being knocked down.

In the Burning Crusade Alpha there is an Outlands version of the Carrion Bird which includes two heads with brightly colored feathers.

As A Hunter Pet

  • Have medium HP, medium armor, and medium damage.
  • Eats only Meat and Fish.
  • Can learn Spell shadow burningspirit [Dive], Ability druid ferociousbite [Bite], Claw, Ability druid cower [Cower], Ability physical taunt [Growl], and their special skill, Peticon-beast Ability deathknight summongargoyle [Screech].
  • Excellent as a pet, due to their variety of skills, their area of effect taunt (Screech), and their overall stats. The Spiteflayer, a rare spawn in the Blasted Lands, has a blazing 1.2 attack speed.
  • Not seen very often as a Hunter pet.
