Cat
From WoWWiki
Cats are carnivorous predators that usually hunt by sneaking up on their prey to pounce upon it. They vary in size from a few pounds to several hundred pounds, and most wild cats can kill prey considerably larger than themselves. Only a few species of cat are strong swimmers.
Cats are found in Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil, Darnassus, Darkshore, Dun Morogh, the Stonetalon Mountains, Azuremyst Isle, Mulgore, the Barrens, the Alterac Mountains, the Hillsbrad Foothills, Winterspring, Stranglethorn Vale, the Swamp of Sorrows, the Badlands, Thousand Needles, Zul'Gurub, the Ghostlands, Eversong Forest, Netherstorm, Blade's Edge Mountains, Durotar, and Silvermoon City.
Twinkle the white housecat wanders near Falcon Watch in Hellfire Peninsula.
A type of cat called a Saber is also the night elf racial mount.
Traits
- Cat corpses are skinnable, except Housecats.
- Cats sometimes drop small furry paws which are objects of one of the repeatable quests at Darkmoon Faire. Lions to the northeast of Crossroads are a good source of paws.

As a Hunter pet
- Cats are by far and away the most popular hunter pet. Their appealing looks, commonness throughout the game, large amount of available skills, and variety make them an excellent choice. Their Prowl ability synergizes beautifully with a night elf hunter's Shadowmeld.
- Prior to pet attack speed normalization in patch 2.0.1, many tamed cats had faster attack speeds, making them ideal for disrupting casters in PvP. Since 2.0.1, formerly-popular cats such as Broken Tooth, Rak'shiri, Frostsaber Pride Watcher, King Bangalash, Humar the Pridelord, The Rake, and Echeyakee may be less in demand.
