Circle of Healing (CoH) is the 41-point talent in the priest's Holy tree. It is an instant-cast spell that heals a friendly target and her nearby party members.

Circle of Healing comes with a 6-second cooldown, implemented in attempts to reduce priests from simply spamming the spell, making some forms of incoming raid damage trivial, for example the Vortex spell encountered in the Malygos encounter. Despite this, the spell remains useful in many places. The spell now works as a "smart heal", a recently implemented mechanic which sees the spell seek out raid members with the lowest health and heals them instead of its old mechanic of healing a specific targetted group.

Molten Giants are a type of fiery and molten mountain giants found in the Molten Core. Molten giants are huge fiery creatures that reside in the darkest hottest places of Azeroth and the Firelands of the Elemental PlaneCitation needed<!-- Cited as MG - but what page? -->. In more detail, if the spell is cast with no specific target it will use the priest caster as a "base" of the spell and will heal an additional four targets (the priest being the fifth target themselves) within its 15 yard radius who are currently at the lowest health. It works in a similar manner to how Replenishment returns mana. Should the priest target someone specifically and cast the spell, it will use that targetted player as a 'base' and will heal for a 15 yard radius of that player.

First two mobs in the instance. These always come in pairs, and are impossible to pull alone. As you progress through the Molten Core, Molten Giants will gradually be replaced with Molten Destroyers, starting with one Destroyer and one Giant, and eventually two Destroyers. The easiest way to deal with them is to put a tank on each and separate them so their stomps do not hurt the same group. Finish one then the other.
−
This new mechanic is useful for healing groups of players at once whilst not having the need for them to be actually grouped together. Healing all melee at once, for example.

Holy Specialization increases the throughput of Circle of Healing, as each recipient of the effect can critical heal.

* Knockback - An attack that punts the target back a bit and aggro. Deals about 600 damage. This attack has two separate aggro reducing components; one in that it reduces threat, but it also knocks you out of melee with the giant. Suddenly you must be much much higher in the threat than everyone else for your hold on aggro to continue, and usually you'll lose it.

Surge of Light and Inspiration do not specifically improve CoH, but both provide additional effects on a CoH critical heal. Many healing builds will have points in Inspiration, but few raid healers can afford the global cooldown cost of using a Surge of Light proc.

  +
Each giant has a tank with one or two healers each to keep them up through the stomps. Hunters can use their instant shots to pull the giants to each tank. The giants are then kept separated and away from the main raid. DPS begins after 2 to 3 sunders, focusing first on giants and then destroyers.

  +
Note to tank: Since the Knockback is threat reducing, you might lose aggro on the giant. So once you tank the giant, do not use the taunt. Just as the giant hit you with a knockback, taunt him back, and build the threat up again. Also, tanking him with your back to a wall is helpful, since the knockback won't knock you out of melee range.
−
Holy Reach increases the radius of CoH by 1.5/3 yards.

Notes
−
The major Glyph of Circle of Healing will cause the spell to heal one additional target, for a total of 6.

  +
The main focus of the giants in the zone seems to be to slow players down, and pace the speed at which the zone is cleared. They are the high hp meat-and-potatoes of the initial clear.

Race Molten giant (Giant)
Level 60 - 62 Elite
Reaction Alliance Horde
Location Molten Core
These massive creatures are the first sight greeting those who find their way from Blackrock Depths into the Molten Core. [1]

Molten Giants are a type of fiery and molten mountain giants found in the Molten Core. Molten giants are huge fiery creatures that reside in the darkest hottest places of Azeroth and the Firelands of the Elemental Plane[citation needed] . Their skin is a deep red, and they are affiliated with fire elementals, which often coexist with them. Their largest numbers can currently be found in Molten Core.

This mob spawns in pairs. The giants are very tough beasts with high HP.

Abilities

 • Normally hits a tank for 600 - 800 damage.
 • Knockback - An attack that punts the target back a bit and aggro. Deals about 600 damage. This attack has two separate aggro reducing components; one in that it reduces threat, but it also knocks you out of melee with the giant. Suddenly you must be much much higher in the threat than everyone else for your hold on aggro to continue, and usually you'll lose it.
 • Stomp - An AoE melee range attack

Strategy

Each giant has a tank with one or two healers each to keep them up through the stomps. Hunters can use their instant shots to pull the giants to each tank. The giants are then kept separated and away from the main raid. DPS begins after 2 to 3 sunders, focusing first on giants and then destroyers.

Notes

The main focus of the giants in the zone seems to be to slow players down, and pace the speed at which the zone is cleared. They are the high hp meat-and-potatoes of the initial clear.
