Cogwheel, aka Matthew Orlando, was an MVP on the UI & Macros Forum, but resigned in late December 2008^[1] ("I reached my tolerance threshhold for not telling people what i REALLY think ;)")

Shortly after the UI Add-on Development Policy was introduced, Cogwheel edited his macro guide posts with a message of protest] (which was later removed). In response, Blizzard erased virtually every post of his from the forums and banned him for a week. One of his protests survived,^[2] ironically because of blue post response. His only post since that time was a farewell^[3] to the community.

Cogwheel is a gnome. Some of his gnomish exploits include:

Being a former UI & Macros forum MVP.
Authoring numerous addons (see Cogwheel's Workshop).
Co-authoring a book on writing addons.
Laying waste to sprockets at every opportunity.^[4]
