Chimaeron is a boss of Blackwing Descent raid instance.

  +
Chimaeron is seemingly some kind of altered hydra. Its name is likely based on the real world usage of "Chimaera", and not the Warcraft creature.
−
Ozumat is the final boss of the Throne of the Tides in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

  +
The world first heroic kill was by Ensidia on 20 December 2010 on 10-person mode. Method had the first 25-person heroic kill on 22 December, followed closely by Paragon.
−
In Kelp'thar Forest, players starting out in Vashj'ir are immediately shipwrecked by Ozumat.

−
−
Players reach Abyssal Depths via a new submarine, which is immediately used to attack Ozumat. Later during the nagas' battle against Neptulon, Lady Naz'jar unleashes Ozumat. Ozumat attaches itself to Neptulon's "head" leading to the victory of the naga.

−
*The tank has to taunt everyone that spawns and kite them.

−
*Aura of Dread - 2000 shadow damage and increases shadow damage taken by 50%. Stacks multiple times

  +
There are three basic phases to the fight.
−
Faceless Sapper
−
*Each one channels a spell on Neptulon which immobelizes him.

−
*If not killed fast enough, they will put a stacking DoT on Neptulon, dealing massive amount of damage.

  +
When the Bile-o-Tron is online the raid will spread out. The buff will protect them from being one shot by Caustic Slime and Massacre. Healers need only heal people above 10,000 HP. Tanks will have to taunt off of each other after 2-3 stacks of Break.
−
Tactics
−
* The encounter begins in a zerg. Smaller trash minions swarm and more powerful mobs spawn. If Neptulon dies, the encounter resets.

  +
When the Bile-o-Tron is knocked offline by Massacre, Chimaeron's heads will begin fighting each other but will still cast Caustic Slime. Thus the raid will stack up on top of eachother and will need to be healed as much as possible. AoE heals such as Healing Rain and Tranquility help. Especially if they are stacked. When the Bile-o-Tron comes back online the raid should spread out again. It should be noted that the Bile-o-Tron is not guaranteed to be knocked out with each Massacre, although the chance increases with each Massacre the Bile-o-Tron "survives".
−
The Encounter has 3 Phases. In Phase 1, small Murlocs spawn which should be AoE down quickly by one party member. Additionally, Vicious Mindlashers and Unyielding Behemoths spawn. Your tank must taunt every spawning Unyielding Behemoth and kite them around the room, as they have a 25k damage AoE knockback and spray an ink attack in a frontal cone. Your DPS should focus on the Vicious Mindlashers and kill them as quick as possible. The Vicious Mindlashers chain cast Shadowbolt, Veil of Shadows and Brain Spike. After some time, Phase 2 will start.

  +
At 20% HP Chimaeron will become untauntable, take extra damage and apply a debuff to the raid reducing healing done by 99%. At this point it's a "simple" burn. He won't cast Caustic Slime or Massacre anymore, and you will still have the Bile-o-Tron. Save all cooldowns for this phase. Everybody attacks the boss, healers included. Throw everything you have at him to bring him down.
−
Phase 2 starts with 3 Faceless Sappers spawning and channeling an ability on Neptulon which renders him useless for Phase 2 and will stack a DoT on him, which will deal massive damage to Neptulon if it stacks to high. In this phase, the Murlocs and Vicious Mindlashers will stop spawning, but the Unyielding Behemoths still spawn. Additionally, a new mob called Blight Beast starts spawning. Your tank also has to kite the Blight Beasts, because they have an aura which deals 2000 shadow damage increases shadow damage taken by 50% and this aura stacks.

−
Additionally, Ozumat can now be seen outside the room, shooting Blight of Ozumat at the group. This Leaves behind a void zone that leaves a DoT on everyone who stands inside. The DoT deals 300 damage per stack and is applied every second as long as you stand in it. The DPS must burn down the Faceless Sappers as fast as possible or else Neptulon will die extremely fast because of the DoT.

  +
Offline phase details
−
After all Mindless Sappers are dead, Phase 3 starts. All remaining mobs are still there and must be killed. Neptulon will damage Ozumat (who has over 3,000,000 life). It seems, that Ozumat starts casting Blight of Ozumat in the whole room, but doesn't stop from casting it (which seems to be a bug). The fight has finally been fixed to where Neptulon buffs you all with +500% health, healing, and damage. This allows you to burn through Ozumat's 3 million hp in 20 seconds or so.

  +
Every few massacres, the Bile-O-Tron gets knocked offline and Chimaeron stats casting "Feud". This is the timing of the events:

Art of Chimaeron

Chimaeron is a boss of Blackwing Descent raid instance.

Chimaeron is seemingly some kind of altered hydra. Its name is likely based on the real world usage of "Chimaera", and not the Warcraft creature.

The world first heroic kill was by Ensidia on 20 December 2010 on 10-person mode. Method had the first 25-person heroic kill on 22 December, followed closely by Paragon.

Abilities

Be sure to talk to Finkle before aggro-ing Chimaeron in order to gain the buff:

 • Achievement plagueworks Finkle's Mixture — Damage taken while above 10000 health cannot reduce your health below 1.

Chimaeron

Chimaeron melees for roughly 120,000 on 10-man normal.

Phase One - 100% to 20%
 • Ability creature poison 02 Caustic Slime — Deals 280000 Nature damage and briefly reduces chance to hit for all enemies in an area. Damage is split between all enemies within 6 yards of the impact crater.
 • Ability creature disease 02 Massacre — Inflicts maximum damage to all enemy players.
 • Achievement boss bazil akumai Feud — Chimaeron is unable to perform melee attacks while his heads are fighting each other. On Heroic, Nefarius interrupts Feud a few seconds in to the channel.
 • Ability physical taunt Break — Chimaeron attacks viciously, breaking through his target's defenses. Increases Physical damage taken by 25% and reduces healing done by 15% for 1 min. Stacks to 4. Notice that this is healing done (e.g. selfheals), not healing taken from healers.
 • Ability devour Double Attack — Chimaeron will strike twice on his next attack. Buff gained when Break is applied.

Phase Two - 20% to 0%

The actual switch happens at 20.4%; presumably because 20.499% rounds down to 20%.

 • Ability warlock improveddemonictactics Mortality — Chimaeron goes into a rage, rendering him immune to Taunt effects but increasing the damage he takes by 10%. Reduces healing effects for all enemies by 99%.
 • Ability devour Double Attack — Chimaeron will strike twice on his next attack.

Heroic Mode Only

Lord Victor Nefarius

 • Ability warlock eradication Mocking Shadows — Inflicts 2,000 Shadow damage every second to all enemies. The raid is afflicted with this at the same time as Mortality and persists until the fight ends.

Strategy

Simple in concept but more difficult in execution, Chimaeron is a gear check boss.

There are three basic phases to the fight.

When the Bile-o-Tron is online the raid will spread out. The buff will protect them from being one shot by Caustic Slime and Massacre. Healers need only heal people above 10,000 HP. Tanks will have to taunt off of each other after 2-3 stacks of Break.

When the Bile-o-Tron is knocked offline by Massacre, Chimaeron's heads will begin fighting each other but will still cast Caustic Slime. Thus the raid will stack up on top of eachother and will need to be healed as much as possible. AoE heals such as Spell nature giftofthewaterspirit [Healing Rain] and Spell nature tranquility [Tranquility] help. Especially if they are stacked. When the Bile-o-Tron comes back online the raid should spread out again. It should be noted that the Bile-o-Tron is not guaranteed to be knocked out with each Massacre, although the chance increases with each Massacre the Bile-o-Tron "survives".

Offline phase details

Every few massacres, the Bile-O-Tron gets knocked offline and Chimaeron stats casting "Feud". This is the timing of the events:

 • -4s: Massacre starts casting
