Consortium Engineers are members of the Consortium that can found inside and outside the Mana-Tombs.

They have some sort of conversation with "Captain" Kaftiz:

"Captain" Kaftiz says: Alright, it looks safe. Get in there, engineer!

Consortium Engineer says: If I make it through, i expect a pay raise.

or

Consortium Engineer says: Here goes nothing!

The Consortium Engineer runs in.

Consortium Engineer runs his hands across his body to make sure everything is intact.

Consortium Engineer says: I made it! I made it!

The Consortium Engineer then explodes.

"Captain" Kaftiz shrugs.

or

"Captain Kaftiz shakes his head in disapproval.

"Captain" Kaftiz says: I didn't like him much anyway. Too much talk, not enough "do".

or

"Captain" Kaftiz says: Damnit. How are we ever going to make it through their security measures?

or

"Captain" Kaftiz says: Thankfully, there's a steady stream of these fools chomping at the bit to get here.
