Guillotine's Tips (More coming very soon)
- Should you have any errors, type /console ReloadUI and they will usually be fixed.
- Just after a Bliz Patch, it is safer to use the Alpha release, but a Normal release is safer at any other time.
- Be sure not to have PopBar enabled if you are using the default Bliz bottom right bar. They will overlap with the Popbar ids going in the opposite way of the default ones.
- Delete SavedVariables.lua (make a copy first) to reset all of your Cosmos (and any other addon) data.
- Mark any quest locations with MapNotes. You may not see the reason at the moment, but you will likely need it later.
Chris's Tips
- '/st lock' and '/st unlock' allow you to move your shardtracker buttons.
- The WTF folder contains your configuration settings.
- The SavedVariables.lua file contains variables like your map notes that is read when you load the UI and written when you logout.
- Cosmos cannot and will not interact with an outside application.
- Mobile frames is a good place to start looking if something in your UI seems to have gotten horribly misplaced.
- Using the built-in (to WoW) UI scale leaves more room for your bags and extras. Try something around .8 for starters.
- The developers of Cosmos are not paid, and, in fact, have other things to do. This should be kept in mind.
- /reloadui will relaod your UI as well as current addons.
- You can see if other people are using Sky by the small icon to the lower left of their player portrait.
- Click on a player while thottbot is collecting data to add their profile to your target data collection set.
- Copying the macros-local.txt file from one computer to another will preserve your macros if you play on more than one computer.
Ingold's Tips
- When entering a new area and interested in questing, collect every quest in the town/area. Then look them up on thottbot and get all the coordinates. Then using /mntloc x,y on the main map, double click and add a note. Fill in the quest name in the first field, then mob name to kill or talk to in the second field. Do this for all the quests. Have another look at the map, and work out the start cycle to complete all the quests. I have found this to be the most efficient and quickest method of getting xp and great rewards.
- This is not a Cosmos tip, but if you're a rogue, bind the sneak key from Ctrl-F1 to ` insted of using a valubable slot, then when ever you want to sneak its just a pinky tap away.
