Curse of Doom, or CoD for short, is a warlock Affliction spell that tags a target to be hit with Shadow damage after 60 seconds. If the target dies from the curse, a Doomguard will be summoned.

2 15% 4200 70 7g 80s

Notes

Only one Curse per warlock can be active on any one target.

Instead of having a chance to summon a Doomguard, the Curse now always summons one if the target yields experience or honor and dies from the Curse.

This spell receives 200% of your +damage/+shadow gear bonus.

The curse is considered a DoT effect, so is incapable of producing a critical hit.

Talent improvement

It has been suggested that Shadow Mastery does not improve this spell.

Tips and tactics

Throw this on a Crowd Controlled or Off-tanked mob in a battle to give it time to proc. Be careful not to use this if the other mobs will take more than 60 seconds to kill, however.

Beware of the Doomguard that this spell summons, unlike Ritual of Doom the demon is not under your control in any way and he must be enslaved (be sure to use Curse of the Elements on him before attempting to enslave). If you are low on health when he summons, he is quite capable of killing you.

Try using this just before your main tank charges Darkmaster Gandling in Scholomance.

A warlock can kill many elites solo by using CoD and crowd control.

You can put this on elites you are fighting if they will take more than 1 minute to take down, to replace Curse of Agony. However, beware. If your pet is tanking, the Curse of Doom tick will likely make the mob attack you.
