The Deathwing Scar was intended to be a zone containing the warped entrance to Deepholm. It was located west of the Burning Steppes.[1] By the time World of Warcraft: Cataclysm went into closed beta, however, the location of Deathwing's entrance into Azeroth had changed to the Maelstrom,[2] while the original planned location of Deathwing Scar is now simply part of the ocean.
