Overview

Demonology is the second of the Warlock's three talent trees. It is centered around minions and the Warlock's survivability, but it also offers various other improvements. The key talents include [Summon Felguard], [Soul Link], and [Master Demonologist].

[Master Demonologist] and [Demonic Sacrifice] give the Warlock a high grade of flexibility, offering multiple different effects, depending on the active or sacrificed pet.

As in regards to damage, a Demonologist with [Soul Link] carries a damage bonus of 5%. An additional 5% with the Felguard pet, or 10% with Succubus using [Master Demonologist], making a total of 10% or 15% damage bonus for both caster and minion. [Demonic Knowledge] also grants spell damage by an amount equal to 15% of the total of the active demon's Stamina plus Intellect. Additionally warlock pets now scale with gear, making a well geared demonology warlock a frightening sight.

A Demonology warlock is arguably the best anti-caster in the game when using a Felhunter. The [Master Demonologist] buff offers the best single-source of magical resistances in the game, all of which can be further supplemented with buffs and gear, and the Felhunter itself adds a dispel (with [Devour Magic]) and a counter spell (with [Spell Lock]). Combined with [Soul Link] and the ability for the Felhunter to heal itself with [Devour Magic], such a warlock can gain considerable resistance to magical damage, remove buffs and debuffs, and shut down enemy casters for short periods of time.

The combination of [Master Demonologist] and [Soul Link] allow the Warlock to effectively tank melee mobs (with Voidwalker) and caster mobs (with Felhunter).

One of the best tricks of the Demonology specialized Warlock is to use the Voidwalker's Sacrifice ability and then use [Fel Domination] combined with [Master Summoner] to summon a new minion in half of a second.

After release, it was looked down upon as not being useful, though this opinion is not as prevalent since the addition of [Master Demonologist]. More recently though, there have been calls by some that Demonology Specialized Warlocks need to be nerfed due to their increased survivability due to the Soul Link talent. However, since then, the Warlock class, and especially its Demonology tree, has undergone major changes.

[Demonic Sacrifice]	20 Demonology	1	When activated, sacrifices your summoned demon to grant you an effect that lasts 30 min. The effect is canceled if any Demon is summoned. Imp: Increases your Fire damage by 15%. Voidwalker: Restores 2% of total Health every 4 sec. Succubus: Increases your Shadow damage by 15%. Felhunter: Restores 3% of total Mana every 4 sec. Felguard: Increases your Shadow damage by 10% and restores 2% of total mana every 4 sec.
[Master Conjuror]	20 Demonology	2	Increases the bonus Fire damage from Firestones and the [Firestone] effect by 15%/30%, and increases the spell critical strike rating bonus of your  [Spellstone] by 15%/30%.
[Mana Feed]	25 Demonology	3	When you gain mana from [Drain Mana] or [Life Tap] spells, your pet gains 33%/66%/100% of the mana you gain.
[Master Demonologist]	25 Demonology 5 Unholy Power	5	Grants both the Warlock and the summoned demon an effect as long as that demon is active. Imp: Reduces threat caused by 4%/8%/12%/16%/20%. Voidwalker: Reduces physical damage taken by 2%/4%/6%/8%/10%. Succubus: Increases all damage caused by 2%/4%/6%/8%/10%. Felhunter: Increases all resistances by .2/.4/.6/.8/1.0 per level. Felguard: Increases all damage caused by 1%/2%/3%/4%/5% and all resistances by .1/.2/.3/.4/.5 per level.

[Soul Link]	30 Destruction 1 Demonic Sacrifice	1	When active, 20% of all damage taken by the caster is taken by your Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, Felhunter, Felguard, or enslaved demon instead. That damage cannot be prevented. In addition, both the demon and master will inflict 5% more damage. Lasts as long as the demon is active and controlled.
