A Dragonling is a class of mechanical guardian pets that an engineer can make.

The significance is that according to the pet article, an engineer can deploy both a [Gnomish Battle Chicken] and a dragonling at the same time.

The word 'dragonling' can be used in a broader sense to mean a small biological dragon, although in the game these are usually referred to as whelps.
