The East Garrison is located inside Blackrock Depths, accessible directly from the Detention Block via a door. The stairs leading up from the East Garrison lead past the Ring of the Law spectators to the Shrine of Thaurissan.

Prior to the Cataclysm, the door was locked and could be opened with the Shadowforge Key. If the door could not be opened either with the key or via a number of Lockpicking abilities/items, it was necessary to enter the Ring of the Law and defeat the challengers there to access the garrison. The garrison held the gigantic locking mechanism to open the passage to the West Garrison and the Manufactory, but the Shadowforge Key was also needed to operate the lock. The key is no longer required now.
