Echo Isles

The Echo Isles

The Echo Isles [64, 85]VZ-DurotarBlip are a handful of small islands off the southeastern coast of Durotar. For a while, the Darkspear trolls lived here, but when the Kul Tiras fleet attacked their land, they had to flee. They evacuated with the help of the Mok'Nathal Rexxar.

After the Third War, when the Horde settled in Durotar, Thrall made these islands off the southern tip available to the Darkspears. Recently, a Darkspear Witch Doctor named Zalazane went mad and started enslaving the Darkspear population, forcing the survivors to relocate.

While numerous attempts have been made to oust Zalazane and reclaim the islands, his enslaved forces are too numerous compared to the weakened Darkspear tribe. They now live on the coast of mainland Durotar in Sen'jin Village, in the Valley of Spirits within Orgrimmar, and in other scattered parts of Azeroth.

Popular in World of Warcraft as a low-level training ground and as a taming ground for any hunters wanting raptor or cat pets.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Cataclysm This section concerns content related to Cataclysm.

In a patch leading up to Cataclysm, Vol'jin will lead the Darkspear tribe in an assault to retake the Echo Isles from Zalazane.[1] Furthermore, all Troll characters created after the liberation of the Echo Isles will have their new starting point there.[2]

Warcraft III

WC3RoC-logo
This article contains lore taken from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, the manuals, and/or official bonus maps.

A Warcraft III map also exists called Echo Isles and played a part in the orc Campaign in Frozen Throne. It was much bigger then its portrayal in WoW and housed a population of Savagekin, Murlocs, and Hydras. There also more troll statues and ruins.
