Guarding the west road between Sun Rock Retreat and the Crossroads, Honor's Stand [37, 11] once consisted of a number of orc burrows, some badly damaged, as well as guard towers. In the past, it had been the location for many great battles between the Horde and its enemies. The orcs stationed here, including peons tasked with repairing the buildings, were very much conscious of the outpost's illustrious, if short, history, though recently they had been beset by attacks mounted by the Kolkar Centaur.
Honor's Stand prior to the invasion
All that changed when the Alliance invaded the Barrens in the wake of Deathwing's sundering of the Barrens. Honor's Stand was burn to the ground, and new Alliance towers have since been built in its stead.[1]
The modern-day Honor's Stand is a large but relatively sparsely populated area, with most of the activity concentrated around the northern tower on the border between the Northern and Southern Barrens. To the north, a human-style gate now stands between the Southern Barrens and Greatwood Vale in Stonetalon Mountains. There is constant fighting - on both sides of the gate - between scouts from nearby Hunter's Hill and the footmen of the Alliance while helpless Alliance peasants attempt to finish the towers, retrieve lumber and perform other tasks. Horde adventurers wishing to access the Southern Barrens from Stonetalon will usually take Stonetalon Pass to avoid the carnage below.
