Emblem of Triumph is a currency used in Northrend to buy epic (tier 9) items, similar to 
[Emblem of Conquest] badges.

As of patch 3.3, this item drops from bosses in all level 80 5-man heroic instances, all level 80 raids except Icecrown Citadel, and you are rewarded two for completing your first random regular Lich King dungeon of the day using the Dungeon Finder, as well as two for every random Lich King heroic dungeon you complete using the Dungeon Finder after your first (which drops Emblem of Frost). You will also gain an Emblem of Triumph for defeating each boss in the normal 5-man Icecrown Citadel dungeons introduced in patch 3.3.
Emblems by Instance
Time estimates assume a good but not exceptional group. Wipes will vastly increase the total, of course. The Oculus awards two bonus badges (for a total of six) when obtained as a random heroic, but does not award them if specifically queued for.
As with all other tier Emblems, Emblems of Triumph can be downgraded to an [Emblem of Conquest]; by visiting 
Usuri Brightcoin[32.2, 54.5] in the Underbelly of Dalaran.

- Valiant Bressia[75.5, 22.1] and Valiant Laradia[75.5, 21.5] sells Triumph-level (ilvl 245) tier 9

Heroic-level tier 9 gear (ilvl 258) cannot be purchased with Emblems of Triumph, these items can only be exchanged with the Regalia tokens which drop in Crusaders' Coliseum 25 heroic.
Patch changes
- Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): "The current plan is to make Emblems of Triumph the "base" of emblems so everything that drops [Emblems of Conquest] would be changed to Triumph and then the new raid content would drop the new highest emblem along with things like the heroic daily and such."
