Increases the damage of your Frostbolt spell by an amount equal to X% of your spell power and reduces the cast time by Y sec.
Empowered Frostbolt is a mage talent that increases Frostbolt's spell power bonus by 5/10%, and reduces its cast time by 0.1/0.2 sec. Frostbolt normally has a spell damage bonus of 81.4% of total Frost spell damage. The bonus from the talent is additive, with rank 2 Empowered Frostbolt increasing the spell damage bonus to 91.4%. The critical strike chance is additive as well, and only applies to the Frostbolt spell.
Empowered Frostbolt is a direct damage increase to the Frostbolt spell, and is valuable in builds that use Frostbolt as a primary damage spell. It is most effective at later levels, when mages have a high amount of spell damage from gear.
