Enhancer is a rarely used catch-all term for consumable items that enhance (buff, enchant, etc.) other items either permanently or temporarily, but are not food, drink or poisons.

Enhancers generally fall into two categories: augments and imbues.

Augments are permanent attributes added to an item. An augment placed on an item that already has one (of any other type) will replace the old one. (An "are you sure" dialog appears if the augment is being placed via an item.)

Imbues are temporary attributes added to an item. As with augments, a new imbue will push out an old one.

An item can have both an augment and an imbue at the same time.
