Entangled gold mines are units created using the Night Elf building Tree of Life and its upgraded forms. This is a building, although, unlike other Night Elf buildings, these are not built by wisps but rather created by an ability of the Tree of Life that traps a gold mine in roots. This entanglement allows the Tree of Life to collect gold from it automatically, as long as wisps are dwelling on the roots around the mine. In order for another player to mine gold from it, however, they either had to destroy the roots or the Tree of Life itself, giving the mine some degree of protection.
