Overview

Envenom is a Rogue Assassination ability learned at level 62. Used as a finishing move it consumes your Ability rogue dualweild [Deadly Poison] doses on the target and deals instant poison damage. One dose is consumed for each combo point.

Functionality

Use

Limitations

  • Must be facing your target.
  • Must not be disarmed.
  • Must have applied at least one dose of Ability rogue dualweild [Deadly Poison] on the target.
  • Must have at least one combo point on the target.

Rank Table

Rank Damage Level Cost
1 168 - 838 damage 62 5 31
2 204 - 1018 damage 69 10 80

Envenom - Rank 1

  • 1 dose/1 combo point: 168 damage
  • 2 doses/2 combo points: 335 damage
  • 3 doses/3 combo points: 503 damage
  • 4 doses/4 combo points: 670 damage
  • 5 doses/5 combo points: 838 damage

Envenom - Rank 2

  • 1 dose/1 combo point: 204 damage
  • 2 doses/2 combo points: 407 damage
  • 3 doses/3 combo points: 611 damage
  • 4 doses/4 combo points: 814 damage
  • 5 doses/5 combo points: 1018 damage

Damage Calculation Formula

Rank1 = 144
Rank2 = 180
Damage = ( RankX + AP * 0.03 ) * Doses

So a Rogue with 1800 AP, using Rank 1 of Envenom on a target with 3 doses of deadly poison:

(144 + 1800 * 0.03) * 3 = 432 + 162 = 594 Damage

Tips

Envenom works much differently than other talents the Rogue might be used to, and therefore must be used with certain considerations in order to benefit fully from its capabilities.

  • For a rogue properly specialized into poisoning skills, Envenom can effectively replace Ability rogue eviscerate [Eviscerate] as a finishing move in certain cases. While Eviscerate does physical melee damage - mitigated by the target's armor, Envenom ignores armor completely, much like a spell, and instead causes Nature Damage to the target.
  • Unlike most other rogue abilities, Envenom is classified as a Nature Spell. Therefore, it will have diminished, or even no effect against mobs with high nature resistance or immunity. Under those conditions, the Rogue should use Eviscerate instead.
  • If you have more charges than combo points and use Envenom, only as many charges will be removed (and do damage) as the number of combo points you used up.
  • If you have more combo points than charges on the target, all combo points will be used up regardless, but you will only do damage according to the number of charges.
  • It is possible for Envenom to critically hit its target, causing 2x damage. Unlike other poison effects, which can not crit a target.

Stack Deadly Poison

  • Inv throwingknife 04 [Shiv] is an effective means of building both combo points as well as applying charges of Deadly Poison to the target.
