Forlorn Ridge is a mountain that was once located in southwestern Azshara. When the Bilgewater goblins settled the region, they moved the entire mountain north.[1][2]

History[]

World of Warcraft[]

WoW Icon update This section concerns content related to the original World of Warcraft.

Forlorn Ridge dominated the nearby landscape of western Azshara, and both the Alliance and the Horde built fortifications on the side of the mountain.

Cataclysm[]

Cataclysm This section concerns content related to Cataclysm.

After the Cataclysm, the recently settled Bilgewater goblins in Azshara moved the entire mountain at a nearby area to the north in order to mine the resources beneath it. They turned its former location into a quarry named Mountainfoot Strip Mine which caused the underground basilisks living there to attack the miners.[1][3]

The goblins would later build Jastor Gallywix's Pleasure Palace on its summit.

Notes[]

  • In Cataclysm, even though the subzone should occupy the whole mountain, it only displays in the area in between the Gallywix Pleasure Palace and the Ruins of Eldarath.
  • Forlorn Ridge is the former site of the scrapped battleground Azshara Crater.[4]

Speculation[]

Due to its shape, the mountain could have been a long-dead volcano.
