Fists of Fury is a Windwalker monk ability. It is a channeled ability that deals damage over time to all targets in front of the monk up to a range of 8 yards.

Patch changes[]

  • Dragonflight Hotfix (2023-07-24): Damage increased by 10%. Does not apply to PvP Combat.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Now deals 90% of its damage to secondary target players.
  • Dragonflight Hotfix (2023-01-09): Damage increased by 15% in PvP Combat.
  • Dragonflight Hotfix (2022-11-01): Damage reduced by 20%.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 1 Windwalker talent (was a level 12 Windwalker ability).
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.2.5 (2022-05-31): Fists of Fury damage to primary target increased by 20%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.1.5 (2021-11-02): No longer maximum target capped and now deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets.
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13):
    • Now capped at 6 targets.
    • Can now be used while holding a two-handed weapon.
    • Now learned at level 12 (was 28).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.1.5 (2019-03-12): If your primary target of Fists of Fury is dead or despawns, a new primary target will be picked for dealing bonus damage.
  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2018-08-10): Now deals full damage when engaged in combat with enemy players (was a 20% reduction).
  • Legion Hotfix (2017-11-28): Damage reduced by 5% in PvP situations.
  • Legion Hotfix (2017-07-27): Damage increased by 12%.
  • Legion Patch 7.2.5 (2017-06-13): Fists of Fury's range increased to 8 yards (was 5) and damage reduced by 20%.
  • Legion Hotfix (2016-12-13): Fists of Fury now deals 85% damage in PvP.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): No longer stuns enemies or deals reduced damage to secondary targets. Now learned at level 28 (was 10).
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.2.2 (2015-09-01): Now deals 20% more damage.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.2.0 (2015-06-23): Now deals 5% less damage.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): No longer stuns a target more than once per cast, but now deals 100% increased damage, and always deal full damage to the primary target with additional targets still being affected by the damage split.
  • Warlords of Draenor Hotfix (2014-10-17): Damage has been increased by 20%.
  • Mists of Pandaria Hotfix (2013-05-29): Fists of Fury is now able to be cast while affected by a silence effect and silence effects will not interrupt the ability while it's being channeled.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.3.0 (2013-05-21): Fixed an issue that caused ticks from Fists of Fury to sometimes be skipped.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Added.
