From WoWWiki
"A Paladin's healing power need not be relegated solely to great restoration. Sometimes a swift, judicious mending can make all the difference."

Quickly Heals a friendly target by a moderate amount. Flash of Light is one of the most mana-efficient heals in-game, and that efficiency increases even more when used on a target with Blessing of Light. This is the most commonly used spell for healing paladins. For raid encounters this spell can be spammed a lot without quickly burning all your mana. Holy Light and Holy Shock should only be used when a larger or quicker heal is essential.
The reason why FoL is so much more mana efficient than Holy Light is that FoL gets much more benefit from +heal gear than Holy Light. Let's do some math:
Given +1000 heal FoL max rank: 1000 * coefficient .42 = 420. You end up with 420 / mana cost (180) = +2.3 more heal per mana spent. HL max rank: 1000 * coefficient .71 = 710. You end up wth 710 / mana cost (840) = +0.85 more heal per mana spent.
Conclusion: More +heal you have, more heal you end up with per mana using FoL.
| Rank | Level | Mana Cost | Heal Amt | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | 35 | 62 - 72 | 40 |
| 2 | 26 | 50 | 96 - 110 | 60 |
| 3 | 34 | 70 | 145 - 163 | 1 |

| 5 | 50 | 115 | 267 - 299 | 2 |

Tips & Tricks
- Use with Blessing of Light to substantially increase healing done
- Use occasional casts of Holy Light to catch up on healing one target if you are falling behind (but not if they are too low as the increased casting time may see them die)
- Switch to Holy Shock (Holy spec only) if someone is extremely low on health
- Blessed Book of Nagrand is the best Libram to use when spamming this spell
