Hello guys... I'm new to WOW, and I have the Battlechest with the expansion "Burning Crusade", I don't have the newest expansions (Lich King, Cataclysm and Pandaria)... So I have some doubts, witch are:
Not having the other expansions... Why have I Pandaria on my game?! (I know I have been updating the game patches) are those patches the other expansions as well??!
Do I need or not to buy the expansions to unlock some features like, for example "Arqheology", because I know I don't have this feature yet.

Blizzard makes you keep your software up to date with the latest patch so they can test the game with all the code, just parts disabled or enabled depending on what expansion you have up to. You do need to buy the new expansions to get new features, access new classes, access new races, access new professions (although mostly newer recipes), and access to new lands.
Archaeology kind of sucks, so you aren't missing much.
Here's a quick summary of what you will get in the expansions you don't have yet:
Wrath of the Lich King:
You can make a Death knight once you get any character to level 55 on any realm (server).
You can learn the [Inscription] profession to make glyphs, scrolls, and mostly off-hand items among other things.
You can explore Northrend and level a character up to level 80.
