Forums: Village pumpWarcraft games Free first month issue

I bought WoW 2 days ago and on the coverage it says "free first month included".I learned that although the first month is free they still needed my credit card information. My intention was to play for a month and then go to vacation for a month. What I wonder is that does Blizzard get the money for the second month immediately without my permission or is there a way that I can play the first free month then go to vacation then come and continue playing. I know that if you do not pay; your account freezes until you pay - which is the thing I want for the second month - but I wonder if Blizzard gets the money like there is no free month included and let me play for two following months or do I have the choice of using the paid month later. Please inform me. --Dwarfstalker (talk) 22:48, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

It's not without your permission, if you have it setup with a recurring payment plan, which should state all of this on the subscription page. Selecting the option Cancel recurring subscription plan will prevent it however. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 23:06, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
So can I subscribe without any payment, play the first month free and then stop playing for a while because what I want is not to waste a paid month or a free month - regardless of its order - while out of town. Because I guess that is what is going to happen if the terms demand that I pay for a month then be able to use the free month. Postponing the usage of the paid month could work though if it is possible. Thanks in advance. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dwarfstalker (talk · contr).
Odd, i've been playing for over a year now and i've NEVER had to give my credit card details, I just buy the game time cards so that I only pay for time i'm actually playing. Sounds like your missing a step or something if you think you have to give your credit card details... Max Krist (talk) 23:33, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh no I meant the credit card number needed to make the pay by that. So am I gonna have to play for 2 following months or is there a freezing option for anyone of them (paid or free months) free of charge? Using the free month after paying for one is not a problem I just do not want to waste one of them while out of town so I wonder is there a way to freeze one of them until I return? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dwarfstalker (talk · contr).

You have to give them your credit card information so that they can continue to bill you when your free month ends, but if you cancel your subscription before the end of the month your account will expire when the free month is up and you will not be charged. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:49, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok thank you all very much and just one last question when I cancel the subscription I can still continue to pay and play anytime right?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dwarfstalker (talk · contr).
Your account will continue to exist, all your 'virtual property' will remain indefinitely.[1] They do recommend that you 'secure your account' (see this forum topic) if you plan to be away from it for a while. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 17:22, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
