I understand that the "community" thinks races shouldn't be capitalized, but if you look up any grammatical rules, you'll find that races are always capitalized. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The.bandit23 (talk · contr).

Blood elves are a "race" of elves. Elves as the species are not capitalized. If you were to do something similar with the real world and humans, you wouldn't capitalize "white human" (as weird as that descriptor sounds it's the closest I could come up with). --Pcj (T•C) 21:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

No, because that involves a proper adjective "Caucasian" which is not the case for blood elves. (Wildhammer dwarves would be a good comparison for that though) --Pcj (T•C) 21:10, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

At least part of it needs to be capitalized. To simply say "blood elves" is incorrect. According to what seems to be "counted" as a race here, at least "Elves" should be capitalized. I think it irresponsible to ignore grammar just because the majority of an online wiki think they can do it better. -- the.bandit23, 16:14, June 16, 2009.

Please don't span the discussion in two pages, it gets counfusing. Elves shouldn't be capitalized as Blizzard don't do it, when you give me a recent source with elves capitalized we can continue discussing. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 21:19, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

And, actually, Blizzard does do it on their own site. Go to www.blizzard.com. Most of their races they have capitalized in their character/race section. "blood elves" isn't, but "Night Elves" is. The.bandit23 (talk) 21:29, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

That page is fairly inconsistent. Click on the blood elf page and it is lower case in that article. Night elf is strangely capitalized on its own page, though. We'll stick to the community consensus. --Pcj (T•C) 21:34, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Except for the fact that the only time a race isn't capitalized in the whole section is the one time on the "blood elves" page. So wouldn't it be more accurate to say that it's strange for "blood elves" not to be capitalized? It is not "fairly inconsistent," because, as I said, the "blood elves" page is the only time (and it's only done once) that lower case is used. Just my two (or 200) cents :P If the all-wise community says I must use lower case, then I must. The.bandit23 (talk) 21:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
