Forums: Village pump → Stormrage and spoilers...
I have in my possession an advance copy of the novel Stormrage. I was wondering about the spoiler policy on this site, and whether I could add any info from it to the wiki. I could not find anything in the site policies about posting advance content (except DNP, which does not appear to cover the novels/comics/manga) or anything about spoilers at all, but I read a few threads down that some of you usually wait two weeks until after the official release. Others in that same thread have also said that there is no hard and fast rule. - I do believe you are right about there being no hard and fast rules. But regardless i would say posting any spoilers prior to release is probably not a good idea. After that then i think it's a bit more open to debate. In the absense of an official policy hidden somewhere i don't know about i think two weeks sounds about right, but it's really up to the administrators.Warthok Talk Contribs 20:33, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
- There's a soft rule: It's DNP prior to actual release, between 0 and 2 weeks after it's highly discouraged, and after it's anyone's game. Usually have a notice up for 0-4 weeks, with a change at 2 weeks from "please don't", to "please do, but look lively, because there will be unmarked spoilers". --Sky (t · c · w) 22:45, February 14, 2010 (UTC)
- I understand the "not post before release" thing, but I don't understand that 2 weeks wait. WoWWiki is a wiki, it has to inform. If you don't want spoilers, you simply don't read a wiki.
- If something, we should add spoiler tags to the pages with recent information, but nothing like forbidding for it to be posted.--Lon-ami (talk) 15:16, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
