Forums: Village pump → Warcraft lore → The Ogres of Azeroth
The Ogres of Badlands
In the Lands of Conflict the tribe is called Duskbelch (also referred to as Duskbelcher), they live in Duskbelch Grotto.
In the World of Warcraft the tribe is called Dustbelcher (also referred to as Dustbelch), they live in Dustbelch Grotto.
How can there be any doubt these two tribes are not one and the same... Be it a typo or not, they live in the exact spot of each other, and they only difference is one letter... -- (Sssss/Slithered) 02:09, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- Seeing that Lands of Conflict is an older sourcebook for the Warcraft RPG, which contains information that later gets changed and/or updated by the WoW RPG, I'm going by that it's actually called Dustbelcher. Though it appears it's not described in the WoW RPG, World of Warcraft is a later source, which makes it the most valid one. --g0urra[T҂C] 06:42, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- Nice to see you decide to merge, that was a pain in the ass. So, final name is WoW's, Dustbelcher. Fine. Whoever makes the merge, don't forget to add a small note saying they were called Duskbelch in the RPG. Good luck ;).--Lon-ami (talk) 16:12, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Or, well, if no one wants to do it, I could do it myself. Anyway, how many time should we wait for opinions? It's pretty clear, imo, considering many things, including the name of the ogre mound.--Lon-ami (talk) 16:17, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- I also support the merge. I think that you can do it Lon-ami, but you'd better wait for an admin to tell, I don't have te authority to tell you jeje. Just remember to lose the less information possible in the merge. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 17:43, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I have it already prepared at a textfile (I'm bored and have nothing better to do ). I think i haven't missed anything. Just merge. The only problematic part has been the "Note", but, well, I managed to merge the info without losing anything.
- Also, regarding the old page, a redirect and that's all, nope?--Lon-ami (talk) 17:52, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
The Ogres of Duskwood
What about Vul'Gol? They are clearly the same as the Splinter Fist.--Lon-ami (talk) 09:04, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- It is indicated in their respective articles:
- It's possible they were renamed to the Splinter Fist ogres that are now found there.
- It's possible they were renamed from the Vul'Gol group of ogres that were there according to Lands of Conflict.

- I support the merge, what I think is that in LoC they are referred as Vu'gol ogres because they live in Vu'gol Ogre Mounds and not necesarily referring to the name of the group, then WoW gives us the name of the group. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 17:17, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
