Where can I find the new WoWWiki? I'm only asking so I don't accidentally waste my time by editing at the old location and having the edits not get included at the new one. Thanks! --Plymouth (talk) 03:47, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

Most of the editors are moving over to http://www.wowpedia.org - of course this one will also stay open for whoever does want to stay behind. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C62,301 contributions and counting) 03:49, October 23, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I just used the tool on the new site to 'reclaim' my username. Plymouth (talk) 02:48, October 24, 2010 (UTC)
Did Kirkburn and such go to the new site? SharlinTalk / Did
Not Kirkburn, but most of the other admins. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C62,301 contributions and counting) 12:14, October 26, 2010 (UTC)
So which site should be considered official? Is wowpedia some kind of Curse stunt? SharlinTalk / Did 11:52, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
Both sites will continue to function. Ausir(talk) 13:00, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
It's not a Curse stunt...most of the admins and prolific editors went over there. --PcjWoWWiki admin (TDrop me a line!C62,301 contributions and counting) 13:03, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
Both sites may continue to exist.. but with actions taking place by Sannse, vandalism may happen more often here than before. Since the ex-admins apparently are not watching the site 24/7 for such actions taking place here by other users. Coobra (talk) 04:33, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
Honestly this version of the wiki looks like crap in Firefox on my system. The front page is atrocious, it really makes me want to never come back simply because its annoying. More crap than good information. I don't want to support Curse but sheesh, they gripers over there are right. SharlinTalk / Did 00:52, November 11, 2010 (UTC)
Sharlin, it's one of the reasons the admins finally decided to move. Wikia has slowly started making high-level administrative changes to the layout, so that all the hard work we did to get things to look nice, are all no longer rendered well. It does look like some people are updating this wiki, but any writer/editor who was reasonably active here has probably moved to the other site. Including me. Cheers! Wikia supposedly has some plan for the future of WoWWiki, but it is unfolding extremely slowly as there is effectively only 1 active admin and I would even classify him as semi-active by his own admission. --Gengar orange 22x22Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 10:54 PM PST 30 Nov 2010
I'm active enough on The Vault, so if you need me pop me a message on my talk page here and I'll see a notice on The Vault, and I check in here a few times a day as well. But I wholeheartedly agree that more admins are needed, especially those who know the game as it is now - my knowledge is outdated so it's hard for me to spot vandalism when it's not clear if it's a new change or not. --Kris talk 11:50, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
You're doing a fine job, all things considered, Deadlykris. No matter what people may say, you're only making the best of a tough situation. And yeah, there isn't any community left here to give adminship to, unless you count the people vandalizing User:Premier Solivoda. I'm not sure what Wikia were thinking keeping the site open, other than trying to extract a few final ad dollars out of it before it dies. Shaponik (talk) 04:02, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
I tried asking a couple RL friends who still play WoW if they'd be interested in becoming an admin. One is too busy and one said he wouldn't be a good admin, he wouldn't know what to do. That second one checks his Facebook every few months so I kinda agree. On a side note, I had a server crash most spectacularly this afternoon - correction, yesterday afternoon, December 1st - and spent nearly 11 hours getting it back up and running. I've currently been awake for 25 hourzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz --Kris talk 12:16, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
That sucks about the servers. :( But regarding admins, I doubt anyone worth their salt would want to bother with this site at this point. A simple look at http://www.wowpedia.org/Special:RecentChanges makes it pretty clear the community has moved on. Shaponik (talk) 16:44, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
I do take it back somewhat: There are people editing WoWWiki. But I'm still searching for the hypothetical "I chose to stick with Wikia for some reason other than ignorance and plan to keep contributing in any significant way" user. I'll let you know if/when I find him/her. Shaponik (talk) 03:24, December 3, 2010 (UTC)
Make sure you grab a unicorn and a mermaid while you're there :P --Kris talk 17:41, December 3, 2010 (UTC)
can you shut this site down or at least make a note about the new one it's just confusing people like he said look at [htt://www.wowpedia.org/Special:NewPages] too and it's pretty obvious all wowwiki's version of that is doing is creating stuff they already have on wowpedia i mean stop wasting people's time folks servian left when he found out too ok? Darunika (talk) 08:01, December 4, 2010 (UTC)
I've been tracking changes here all week and don't see what you are referring to. Due to the fact that the question first posed in this topic has been answered, I'm going to go ahead and protect the page from further editing - if, in the future, you see information that appears to have been copied directly from wowpedia without proper reference, please leave a message on my talk page. While it should be expected that information posted on the two sites will be similar - after all, both sites are talking about the same game and attempt to keep people informed about the exact same topics - no plagiarizing will be tolerated.
