would a tauren druid character be good for someone with relatively little experience? Mandelbrot (talk) 11:18, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Race doesn't matter, but while druids are a fun class to play, if you are new to the game I'd suggest a hunter or warlock. It's my opinion that any class that has a pet teaches new players about such things as tanking, dps, healing, and aggro management.

A druid can teach many aspects of the game as well: tanking = bear, dps = cat or later, moonkin, healing = druids are great at this + tree, and aggro management can be done as cat. Being a hunter or warlock doesn't really teach you healing at all. Also, druids get to be a sea lion at 16 and swim fast with water breathing. They get a faster ground travel form at 16 and flight form at 60. With patch 3.2, they nerfed the druid flight advantage (used have to be level 70 for non-druids with fligth for at 68). --Fandyllic 16:30, August 17, 2009

Mend pet and Health funnel. Basic healing, keeping your pet/minion alive.

Yes, basic healing, but not really comparable to the healer role in groups. I suppose you will learn some timing issues, but not the difference between using HoTs and long-cast-time big heals. There is also a big difference between letting your pet tank and tanking yourself. When your pet tank dies you can try to run away. When you're tanking, you die. That said, pet classes tend to solo better than most others. --

If you prefer Alliance, do draenei... smaller starting zone, better rewards.

It says you should chooose an balanced class if you're unsure. Tauren high endurance plus druids healing and dps. Sounds good to me. BobNamataki (talk) 20:10, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

If you prefer Horde, do trolls, might not have as good rewards as the Blood elf area, but you get a nice bonus to using bows. And you can always switch over to the BE area after preforming the hunter quests to earn your own pet. Don't expect a lot of help on either side, at this point in the game's history most people are a-holes in general chat. Though once in a blue moon you might find someone that actually offers help, rather than insults.

I would think monthly fees... saves gas.

It depends on how much the gift card costs and how much time it gives you, vs. how many months you're paying for at a time. You should be able to do some basic math to figure out how much the gift card gives you per month and compare it against a monthly fee, but the two should be pretty close in terms of price. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:48, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
