Chakra is a new ability in patch 4.0.1 which allows the holy priest to slip into whichever role is needed. This is done by casting Chakra and following that up with either [Heal], [Prayer of Healing] or [Smite] to enter into a corresponding Chakra state which will increase the effectiveness of an associated style of healing. With the Revelations talent your Holy specialisation spell Holy Word: Chastise will morph into a new spell based on your corresponding Chakra state. The four Chakra states will be outlined below.

Chakra: Heal

To get into this Chakra state one must first cast [Chakra] followed by [Heal]. While in this state the critical effect chance of your [Heal] spell is increased by 10%, and your [Heal] refreshes the duration of your [Renew] on the target. With the Revelations talent your Holy Word: Chastise spell morphs into Holy Word: Serenity which instantly heals friendly targets for a considerable amount and increases the critical effect chance of your healing spells by 25% for 6 seconds (cooldown is 20 seconds). This makes this Chakra state ideal for tank and single target healing.

Chakra: Prayer of Healing

To get into this Chakra state one must first cast [Chakra] followed by [Prayer of Healing]. While in this state the healing done by your area of effect spells is increased by 10% and the cooldown of your Circle of Healing spell is reduced by 2 seconds. With the Revelations talent your Holy Word: Chastise spell morphs into Holy Word: Sanctuary which allows you to bless a small area on the ground gradually healing all friendly targets standing on the blessed area. Holy Word: Sanctuary will remain active on the ground for 15 seconds and its cooldown is only 10 seconds. This Chakra state is ideal for encounters where burst area of effect healing is preferred.

Chakra: Smite

To get into this Chakra state one must first cast [Chakra] followed by [Smite]. Even with the Revelations talent your Holy Word: Chastise spell does not morph in this Chakra state. This is most likely because there is no need to morph it into a holy nuke, it is a powerful enough spell as it is.

Improvements

Revelations (priest talent) allows the use of Holy Word: Serenity and Holy Word: Sanctuary based on your current Chakra state.
[State of Mind] increases the duration of your Chakra state by 2/4 seconds every time you use the successful corresponding (Heal, Prayer of Healing or Smite) spell.

It should be noted that talents like [Twin Disciplines] can be used to increase your general healing effectiveness (and consequently your two Holy Word heals), but currently only 2 talents increase the effectiveness of the Chakra spell itself.
