Frozen Core is a mage talent that reduces damage taken by Frost and Fire spells by 2% per point, up to 6% at max rank 3. This talent is not very popular among mages, due to it's situational usefulness. In PvP, the only classes that use Fire and Frost spells are Warlocks, other Mages and occasionally Shamans. In PvE, damage reduction can be useful for survivability in raids, but the Frost and Fire limitation makes it situational. [Prismatic Cloak] in the Arcane tree offers a similar damage reduction of 2% per point, but it applies to all forms of damage.
