Gillijim's Isle is an island in the South Seas off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale. It is south of the Island of Doctor Lapidis. It is a jungle troll isle that is currently not in World of Warcraft, but it appears on the World of Warcraft World Map released in 2006. It also appears in the intro cinematic for World of Warcraft, on a map in The Comic and in the World of Warcraft: Game Manual. It also appeared in several maps throughout the Warcraft RPG, for example "Monster Guide Web Supplement" of 2007.
In World of Warcraft[]
The island existed during the World of Warcraft alpha — however, it no longer exists in-game (beyond the Classic cinematic).
Gillijim's Isle was one of two islands located around this area, the other one being the Island of Doctor Lapidis.
Notes and trivia[]
- It was named after the exterior level designer Jim Chadwick.[1]
- Prior to the Cataclysm expansion, the location of the Gillijim's Isle subregion still existed off the coast of Stranglethorn, although not its landmass.
- Death knights with [Path of Frost] or shaman using [Water Walking] paired with a mount were able to make their way there.
- The name of the island might be a reference to "Gilligan's Island", a 1960's sitcom.
